Flight Information
The Jacksonville Airport (JAX) is the closest airport (about 60 miles to St. Augustine—about 1 hr and 15 minutes to drive). Several car rental agencies are available as are taxi services. http://www.jia.aero/ A car service from JAX to St. Augustine will cost about $70 each way. http://www.jia.aero/gtran.aspx
Another choice would be Orlando International Airport (MCO) (about 125 miles to St. Augustine—about 2.5 hours to drive). http://www.orlandoairports.net/main.htm
Slayage Conference: Shuttles from JAX
The conference will provide low-cost shuttles (college vans) to and from JAX and the college. The cost will cover the fuel, oil, and the drivers. This will be $15 per person. Do not pay the drivers. You will pay for this service at the conference registration desk.

College Dorm Rooms are available (52 doubles and 1 single):
NEW 2010 Rates:
Double Occupancy/no linens: $8.00 per person per
night
Double Occupancy/ with linens: $13.50 per person per night
Single Occupancy/no linens: $16.00 per night
Single Occupancy/with linens: $21.50 per night
Two rooms share one bathroom. It's possible that
as many as four people will be sharing a bathroom.
These rates are half of what they normally charge because the college is
co-sponsoring and is donating part of cost to the conference.
Linens include: fitted sheet, blanket, sheet, pillow case,
two towels, wash cloth and a hand towel. Note that this list does not
include a pillow. Those are $15 each. "Linens" does not
mean maid service.
The conference registration will check out the keys to the dorm rooms when Whedonians
register.
Local Transportation
The conference has arranged for local (within downtown St. Augustine) transportation with Ripley's Sightseeing Trains. [No need for a taxi.] For $12 tickets for the sightseeing trains will be honored for a three day period starting June 4th, 2010. These will be sold and issued at the Slayage registration desk.

The sightseeing train stops within ˝ block of the student center at two different stops. Unfortunately, it does not stop directly in front of any Flagler College building.
Conference attendees will be given a free password to the Flagler College WIFI network at the registration desk.
