Lewis Call is Assistant Professor of History at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He is Associate Editor of the journal Anarchist Studies. He is currently researching the phenomenon of erotic power exchange, particularly as it is portrayed in American speculative fiction. He recently explored representations of this phenomenon in the Buffyverse (Slayage 6.4). He has also written about erotic power in the novels of Samuel R. Delany and Octavia Butler (Rethinking History 9: 2/3, June/September 2005), and in the science fiction of James Tiptree, Jr. (Science Fiction Studies 34: 1, March 2007).
